Is there a reduced chance of blistering ?

An added benefit of keeping feet dry is that they will be less prone to blistering. As you walk or run, your sock moves past your skin, chaffing it. If the sock is wet, the water acts as lubrication. Friction between the skin and foot is reduced, so the sock slides up and down more easily, and increased rubbing occurs.

In a dry system, there is no lubricant to assist rubbing. Relatively high friction between the sock and foot minimises the movement of the sock over the skin, reducing rubbing and minimising blisters.
