Are SealSkinz® socks and gloves close-fitting?

SealSkinz® incorporate patented technology to give us socks and gloves which are waterproof, breathable and elastic. The middle layer of the "sandwich", the waterproof breathable membrane, is corrugated or ‘ruched’, so that as the fabric is stretched, the membrane itself doesn't stretch, it merely unfolds. This not only means that the membrane is put under less stress, but also that the product extends (stretches) under a lower force because the film itself is not being stretched.

This means that SealSkinz® extend easily over the heel or hand as they are put on, and recover back to fit closely around the ankle. Because they fit closely, there are no excess folds of material, which may lead to blistering

Close-fitting products ...

The Mid Thermal Sock is mono-stretch which means it stretches widthways, to fit your foot snugly. It does not stretch in the length direction, and so it is dual sized so that you can choose the exact fit for your size.

The Mid Light Sock is the most stretchy sock in the SealSkinz® range because it is so lightweight. It stretches both widthways and along the length. The sizing is therefore less critical and one sock fits several foot sizes comfortably.

SealSkinz® close-fitting gloves are available in 5 sizes, to accommodate the whole range of hand sizes.
