| The Mid-Light
...
In the Mid Light
Sock, the inner sock is composed of a cotton and
nylon microfibre in a two tier construction. The nylon
microfibre lies on the internal surface of the sock,
in contact with the skin. The fibres are very fine and
naturally hydrophobic (water hating), consequently they
will not hold moisture, but readily wick it by capillary
action to the second, more absorbent, cotton tier, keeping
the foot dry and comfortable. The cotton tier, lying
between the nylon and rubber outer and membrane acts
as a "reservoir", holding moisture until it
can be transmitted, as water vapour, through the membrane
and away.
The Mid-Thermal ...
In the Mid Thermal
sock the inner layer is composed of terry loops of hollow
core polyester (a high wicking yarn) and cotton. The
loops provide cushioning - high density padding is provided
in the critical area at the bottom of the foot, for
greater comfort. The terry loops take moisture from
the skin and hold it until it is transmitted through
the membrane, as water vapour.
Water Blocker Socks ...
In the Waterblockers,
the inner surface of the sock is made from Coolmax®
- a fibre specially engineered with a cross section
of channels along its length, which encourage moisture
to be wicked rapidly, away from the skin, keeping the
wearer dry.
Thermal Liner socks and gloves
...
The SealSkinz® liner
sock and the Sealskinz® liner
glove are composed of a wicking yarn, Meraklon®.
When the liners are worn under Sealskinz® they carry
moisture away from the skin to the internal surface
of the waterproof product. |
