A 47-year old man's charity challenge around Britain on electric powered mobility scooter stopped off at SealSkinz HQ this week.
Mark Newton from Swansea began his crusade on April 7th departing from Lochgilphead, Scotland to travel the perimeter of Great Britain on his heavily modified electric mobility scooter. Mark has taken on this extraordinary challenge to raise funds for charities that have helped him during his time of need, these include: Help for Heros, RNLI Lifeboats, SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmena nd Families Association) and the Queens Dragoon Guards.
While in the armed forced, Mark sustained serious injury to his right leg in Cyprus in 1991. Following this he received a further blow of becoming redundant in August 2010 and wanted to do something worthwhile with his time.
1st The Queens Dragoon Guards and the Royal British Legion arranged for him to have a scooter to help him get out and about and he said that this is his way of paying them back. So far Mark has raised over £17,000
Mark kitted up departing HQ with his SealSkinz Thermal Waterproof Cap and All Season Gloves.
