  • Hydrostop Usage Guide - SealSkinz Hydrostop technology creates a seal between the sock cuff and skin, helping to reduce the amount of water from running down the leg and into the sock. Due to this close bond between sock cuff and skin, we recommend that Hydrostop socks are only used outdoors and not for a prolonged period of time. Incorrect or prolonged use can result in excessive rubbing against the skin and may in a very small minority of cases cause minor skin irritation. The Hydrostop seal material has been fully tested to EN ISO 10993-5: 2009 and is OEKOTEX compliant.

A performance thin weight waterproof ankle sock designed specifically for MTB (Mountain Biking) for conditions where minimal insulation and maximum breathability are required. Featuring our unique Hydrostop technology which gives you a much more secure fit between your leg and the top of the sock, meaning the chance of water ingress through the top is massively reduced.

  • Outer: 90% Nylon, 10% Elastane
  • Membrane: Hydrophilic membrane
  • Inner: 35.5% Merino Wool, 35.5% Acrylic, 19% Polyester, 3% Elastane, 6% Nylon, 1% TPU
  • Finer than traditional wool with tiny overlapping scales that case each fibre, these scales are hydrophobic (water repellent). Inside it's a different story, the fibre core is hydrophilic (highly absorbant). Merino is therefore a wicking fibre and can absorb and release 10 times more moisture than synthetics. Each fibre can absorb up to one third of its own weight in moisture without feeling clammy or wet to the touch. In our socks and gloves, the moisture is then wicked through the membrane to keep you feeling warm and dry

  • The perfect barrier between you and the most challenging wet weather. Our products are developed in such a way as to give 100% waterproof protection whilst being incredibly breathable and dexterous. Add in varying layers of insulation means we can offer waterproof products for all climates.

  • Our unique new technology gives you a much more secure fit between the top of the sock and your leg. Meaning the chance of wateringress through the top is massively reduced, enabling you to go out and stay out whatever the weather

MTB Ankle Socks with Hydrostop is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great waterproof socks Great waterproof socks. They are warm, but still possible to ride in hot steam weather in summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof, not submersible As long as you dont go deeper than the top of the sock they will keep out all the water. Its an odd sensation, you can feel the water, and the cold, but your feet are not wet. I was under the impression that the hydrostop bit on the inside collar of the sock would keep out all water if i went deep, but it does not. I imagine it will stop mud and water from trickling down your leg, but you cannot walk through a river without it going in, as i found out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wouldn't ride a MTB without them On the slightly expensive side for a waterproof sock but great product that works and lasts the rest of time (as long as you don't wash them in the washing machine).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these socks! As a mtb coach I'm out on the bike in all weather's so comfort and warmth are both very important to me, but so is style! These new ankle length socks in grey with bright green and yellow are awesome! They look really cool and feel great! I've had them on all day and my feet have been cosy and dry. The new rubber seal at the ankle is brilliant as it stops water running down into the socks. Will definitely buy some more and would welcome even more bright colours!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great socks for my mountain biking A friend put me on to these and I have to say that they are a great addition to my MTB kit. At the price seal skins were selling them they were too good to turn down. I've bought thicker, longer socks ready for the winter. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sealskinz MTB Ankle with Hydrostop - Grey / Black I bought these for wearing on motorbike as my boots leak. Rode 200 miles in the pouring, driving rain - feet bone dry. Great socks, good size, felt comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable I purchased them for a very wet C2C bike ride, thinking of the wet and cold. They were excellent, due to the extremely wet weather my feet weren’t totally dry but they were warm and comfortable

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pair of socks. Received as a gift for the Summer Wolf Run. Very comfortable to wear and did a great job of keeping my feet warm and dry until they were fully submerged in water (I dont think any sock could beat the water on a Wolf Run). Very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fab product I think Sealskinz socks are amazing - they have transformed winter mountain biking for me. However I would love to see more women's fit socks as the standard size is too wide for me and the only women's ones are in white - not what I need for mountain biking.
Date published: 2016-11-17
Rated 4 out of 5 by from comfortable and warm I rode in heavy rain with cycling tights over the socks. Both socks absorbed a lot of water from rain and spray. My left foot stayed dry, my right foot was wet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Wet socks" Bought these when my old pair finally stopped working and let rain in through the cuff. This pair seemed to work very well in the next downpour. Glad I have them. Nothing worse than spending a long timeat work or on public transport with wet feet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Postie at work I only had one try so far. It kept me dry , but was a bit too warm to wear in a winter boot. Will work best in shoes I think..
Date published: 2018-01-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from MTB ankle socks Not quite as watertight as hoped. Waking through wet grass has left toesection damp (inside)
